University of Arkansas & Israeli-based Salvador Technologies Partner on Cybersecurity Project

Bastazo, a startup from UALR, is partnering with Israeli-based Salvador Technologies as part of a project to address escalating external threats.

• BIRD Cyber Program: Bastazo’s venture is part of a joint initiative of the U.S. DHS Science and Technology Directorate, the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD), and the Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation (backed by the BIRD Foundation).

• Experience gained: This project brings together an alumni and doctoral students from UALR, each of whom are looking forward to the experience they will gain.

Arkansas State Fair Gears Up For Another Year With Preparations and Promotions For Fans

The 83rd Arkansas State Fair is primed to provide a fun and safe experience for Arkansans when it kicks off this October.

• No small feat: In 2021, the fair set an all-time attendance record of 539,358, earning it 17th place in the nation's top 50 state fairs.

• Maximizing potential: With competitive prices and special daily promotions, the fair is striving to make the experience enjoyable for all while offsetting the costs of running the event.

Apple Seeds Brings Garden-Based Education to Central Arkansas

Apple Seeds, based in Northwest Arkansas, has partnered with the University District Development Corporation and the University of Arkansas Little Rock to introduce their nutrition and cooking education programs to Central Arkansas. Through hands-on farm field trips and in-school culinary classes, they strive to empower students with knowledge and skills to embrace healthy living.

• Wholesome habits: Through interactive farm field trips and in-house cooking experiences, the program's mission is to inculcate young minds with an appreciation and enjoyment for nutritious foods.

• Support from Arkansas Children's: Arkansas Children's has been a proud supporter of Apple Seeds for the past few years and is looking forward to their expansion of healthier communities.
