Pinnacle Mountain State Park to Open New Visitor Center and Loblolly Outpost
Pinnacle Mountain State Park is set to open a new visitor center with a ribbon cutting ceremony today.
A monumental launch: Designed by Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects, the new visitor center is meant to reflect the mountain itself and is much closer to where visitors to the park typically pass.
Ready, set, explore! Inside there will be a concession stand, restrooms, bike racks, interpretive exhibits, seating, and more. The park is open daily 8 am to 5 pm, closed on certain holidays.

UAMS Receives $17.6M Federal Grant to Increase Primary Care Physicians in Arkansas
UAMS was awarded a four-year Medical Student Education program grant of $17.6 million from the Health Resources and Services Administration for recruiting and supporting primary care physicians throughout Arkansas.
Addressing need: Arkansas is currently ranked at No. 13 in the U.S. for greatest need of primary care physicians; this grant seeks to close that gap.
Proven effectiveness: Research shows that a larger primary care physician workforce is correlated with better health outcomes, fewer avoidable hospitalizations and lower mortality.
