The City of Little Rock Set to Launch New Live Event Series "River Market Live" in August

River Market Live is a new live events series hosted by the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau at the River Market outdoor pavilions that will take place every Thursday in August.

• Big on Little Rock: This series celebrates Arkansas's capital by showcasing and celebrating its people and amenities, and is part of the LRCVB's Big on Little Rock initiative.

• The party's on: The series kicks off on August 10th with a performance by The Karla Case Band and will feature live music, arts performances and special events from then on. Admission is free, and food and beverage will also be up for grabs.

Simmons Bank Generates Record Profits Despite Economic Headwinds

Simmons First National Corp., parent company of Simmons Bank, reported its second quarter results, with net income more than doubling from the same quarter a year ago.

• Good news: Though total revenue was down from the previous year, the bank saw net income of $58.31 million, or 46 cents diluted earnings per share, as a result of their initiatives to optimize operations and an early retirement program.

• Projections: Cost savings of up to $15 million a year are projected to be met or exceeded by the end of 2023.

Little Rock Rangers Secure Victory En Route to USL2 Finals

The Little Rock Rangers, Arkansas's premiere soccer club, have defeated Texas United and are on their way to Virginia for the next round of the United Soccer League Two Southern Conference playoffs.

• Achievement unlocked: The Rangers came out on top in a 2-0 victory, sending the team to its first USL2 playoff run in club history.
