Arkansas Tax Revenue Exceeds Forecast in First Two Months of FY2024

Arkansas's tax revenue surplus for the first two months (July-August 2023) of the fiscal year was $33.2 million, primarily driven by gains in auto and retail sales.

  • Surpluses everywhere: Revenue was up in all major categories, from individual income tax's 8.8% above forecast, to corporate income taxes 46.5% beyond the budget.

  • Blooming Revenue: This marks the third consecutive year of a surplus of near or more than $1 billion.
