U of A Pine Bluff Receives Grant to Create Quantum Info Science Program in Arkansas

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will be the lead institution receiving $3.5 million from a five-year, $5 million grant to set up a quantum education program, in partnership with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and University of Arkansas Fayetteville. 

  • Big bucks: The grant will fund a quantum laboratory and quantum curriculum for bachelors and masters students, as well as quantum dot research and fabrication of integrated quantum photonic devices. 

  • Sharing the wealth: UA Pine Bluff will receive $3.5 million, UA Little Rock $750K and UA Fayetteville just as much for their respective projects.

NLR City Council Approves the Rebuilding of Burns Park Funland After Tornado Damage

Burns Park Funland, damaged in March 2023 due to a tornado, is getting back on its feet thanks to the approval of new plans during a North Little Rock City Council meeting last week.

Xperience Kitchen and Lounge opened up last week in downtown Little Rock. Owner Bobby Forrest Jr. and Executive Chef Christopher Jones have been working hard to make their dream a reality. 

  • A legacy: Forrest is leaving a legacy for generations to come, giving his family something to be proud of while also aligned with the city and Mayor Frank Scott Jr's vision of bringing people back to the downtown area. 

  • No challenge too big: Banks told Forrest no when he was searching for a loan but he persevered through the challenge and was able to make his dream come true.
