Optimistic Outlook for Arkansas Economy and Record Low Jobless Rate

Arkansas recorded a new record low in June 2023, with its jobless rate hitting 2.6% and 1,347,866 employed in the state.

  • Bounce back: After the effects of the pandemic in 2020, Arkansas has seen a strong recovery in its job sector, with the biggest gains in leisure and hospitality, education and health services, and construction.

  • Long term outlook: Economists forecast a slowdown in growth towards the end of the year and a shallow recovery in 2024, but are expecting low unemployment and continued growth in service sectors.

Razorbacks Return to War Memorial as Stadium Prepares for 75th Anniversary

War Memorial Stadium, the iconic home of the Razorbacks, is gearing up for their season opener against Western Carolina on September 2nd and is making extra effort to look their best in honor of the stadium's 75th anniversary.

  • Red alert: Workers are hard at work painting both endzones with the hog logo - and that's just the beginning.

  • Fearsome Hogling: The game won't be the only one played on the freshly painted field - the Salt Bowl between Benton and Bryant and a college football game with Birmingham Southern and McMurry University will also take place.
