Rock City Running to Host Annual Gobbler Turkey Trot
The 2023 Gobbler Turkey Trot, a Thanksgiving Day fun run through The Heights and Hillcrest, is slated to hit the streets this year with a new team at the helm, Rock City Running.
Same same but different: The Gobbler features the same location and mission, but with a change in name from Go!bbler to Gobbler.
Giving basics: Participants donate canned goods, non-perishable food items or monetary donations during the trot, with a goal of raising 200,000 meals for the Arkansas Foodbank.

UAMS and Little Rock PD Team Up To Create Unique Crisis Response Teams
Little Rock Police Department and UAMS have teamed up to receive a $500,000 grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, which will be used to create crisis response teams of police officers and social workers to address mental health issues.
Keep it out of the jails: The aim of the program is to keep people with mental health issues out of the justice system and instead allow them to receive treatment.
Focus on the big stuff: By providing the police with specialized personnel to address mental health issues, the police can focus on fighting serious crimes.
