Friends of the Animal Village

Friends of the Animal Village (FAV), is a nonprofit organization in Little Rock, Arkansas providing supplemental support to our city's shelter, the Little Rock Animal Village.

  •  🐾 Supporting Animals: The Friends of the Animal Village is dedicated to raising awareness about the Village, increasing adoptions, and improving the quality of life for the animals in LRAV's loving care.

  • 🎅  Get involved: FAV gladly accepts donations and organizes fundraisers throughout the year. Their annual Santa Paws fundraiser is coming up soon on December 14th!

Historic preservation is more than saving buildings—it’s about revitalizing neighborhoods, curbing urban sprawl, and shaping vibrant communities.

  • 🏚️ Bringing new life: Through advocacy, education, and marketing, the Quapaw Quarter Association is bringing new life to the places that tell our shared story.

  • 🤝  Preserve History: Join the movement by becoming a member of QQA or donating financially. This will help preserve Greater Little Rock's historic places.

Did you know that Arkansas ranks first in the nation for food insecurity? Potluck Food Rescue, a nonprofit in North Little Rock, is working to change that.

Supporting Native American / Alaska Natives

American Indian Center of Arkansas

The American Indian Center of Arkansas has a mission to improve the quality of life for Native American / Alaska Natives living in Arkansas since 1977.

  • Career Development: AICA offers job training and placement for Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Arkansas. AICA collaborates with local businesses and industries to create opportunities that align with participants' skills and career goals.

  • Supporting Mental Health: AICA provides culturally competent and holistic mental health and wellness services. They focus on supporting children, youth, and young adults who are dealing with mental health or substance use disorders. Their aim is to help these individuals connect with essential resources that promote resilience and prevent suicide.

Supporting the Chronically Homeless

Providence Park Homes

Homelessness is a big challenge across the country. To help tackle this, a new initiative called Providence Park is creating a community of tiny homes. This project is designed to offer affordable housing options for those who have been without a home for a long time.

  • Tiny Home Housing: Providence Park is building 400 tiny homes for chronically homeless individuals in Arkansas, fostering stability and community.

  • Holistic Support: Not only will they offer housing, they will also offer medical, mental health, and dental care alongside job opportunities to empower residents.

Supporting Families/Child Loss

Mamie’s Poppy Plates was founded in 2010 by Sarah Adams and her sister Britney. After Sarah tragically lost her daughter Mamie to stillbirth, the sisters started the organization to provide grieving families with keepsake plates featuring their baby’s hands and footprints, offering comfort and a lasting memory during their healing process.

  • Mission of Comfort: Provides support to grieving families across the U.S. by preserving memories of lost babies or children through personalized keepsake plates.

  • Healing Through Remembrance: Creates hand and footprint plates for parents who cannot bring their baby home, offering a meaningful way to cherish their child’s memory.

Civic Engagement

Our Little Rock

Our Little Rock is a 501c3 organization and Strong Towns Local Conversation group dedicated to making Little Rock livable for all.

  • Empowering Community Advocacy: Organizes events, discussions, and resources to educate residents on improving transportation and land use, fostering safer and more resilient neighborhoods.

  • Collaborating for Change: Partners on initiatives like street calming projects and neighborhood walk audits to enable small, community-led actions that enhance livability.

Addiction Recovery

Wolfe Street Foundation

The Wolfe Street Foundation is a recovery community organization dedicated to supporting individuals struggling with addiction in a supportive, family-like environment.

  • Support for Recovery: WSF provides resources and a safe space for individuals recovering from alcohol and substance addiction, fostering community and healing.

  • Community Programs: Hosts educational events, support meetings, and initiatives to raise awareness about addiction and recovery.
