Exploring the Southern BBQ Delights of Arkansas

Arkansas BBQ takes on a unique blend of flavors from its neighbors on either side of the Mississippi River, boasting styles from sweet-tangy sauces to Texan-style beef sandwiches.

• Classics: Some of the state's oldest restaurants, like McClard’s Bar-B-Q in Hot Springs, offer traditional options, like smoked goat, ribs, beans & slaw, tamales, kielbasa, and hot links.

Six Bridges Book Festival Brings Communities and Authors Together In Central Arkansas

The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) Six Bridges Book Festival is celebrating its 20th year of fostering a love of reading, literature, and storytelling in Central Arkansas this Sept 25–Oct 1.

• Author spotlight: This year's lineup features an array of literary greats like Stephen Aryan, Abraham Josephine Riesman, De'Shawn Charles Winslow, David Grann and more.

• Adventure awaits: From cooking and writing workshops to art receptions, open mics and pie bake-offs, there will be something for everyone at the Six Bridges Book Festival.
