Little Rock School Board Approves Solar Energy Plan in Face of Pushback from Entergy

Two big stories were discussed at the Little Rock school board meeting Thursday.

  • Falling Funds: With fewer students due to the state's ongoing war on public schools, the district will need to make hard decisions on spending to stay afloat in the long-term.

  • Turn to the sun: After two years of advocacy and discussion, the board unanimously passed a measure to explore solar energy, which is expected to save the district hundreds of thousands of dollars annually and over 25 years could result in between $4.7 million and $5.7 million saved.
