Goodwill Industries of Arkansas has unveiled the Goodwill Training and Education Center (GTEC) in Little Rock to serve adults pursuing industry credentials and high school diplomas. 

  • Unlocking potential: The center features a traditional ribbon cutting and a speech from Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin and other prominent speakers, and offers tours of the facility immediately after the ceremony. 

  • Making a difference: GTEC will serve as a pipeline of skilled workers to address workforce shortages in Arkansas, and includes an Opportunity Center to allow community partners to provide services to the public and students in one shared space.

Elopak Announces Grand Opening of Production Facility in Little Rock, Praises Arkansas for Collaboration

The Norwegian Elopak Company is the latest addition to Little Rock, with its production plant set to open in the first half of 2025. 

  • Big plans: At a press conference on Tuesday, Reinard Dreesmann praised Little Rock's commitment to sustainability and big plans for the company. The production plant will span nearly 300,000 square feet and create 100 jobs. 

  • Think long-term: Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. said that working with sustainable companies like Elopak is something he hopes will become the norm. Elopak is aiming to be carbon neutral by 2030, a goal Scott said is key for the future.
