The Arkansas Cornbread Festival is coming to Little Rock next month and promises a fun-filled event for all. 

• Taste test: Attendees can purchase a tasting ticket to sample various cornbread recipes and cast their vote for their favorite.

A-State Promise Plus Offers Free Tuition to Families Under $70,000 in Arkansas

ASU is doing its part to help make college accessible for all with the launch of their A-State Promise Plus scholarship program. 

• Cost-free: Families with household incomes of $70,000 and below can take advantage of this "last-dollar" scholarship, which covers any remaining tuition costs not covered by other grants and scholarships after the Arkansas Academic Challenge and Lottery Scholarship are applied. 

• Room and board: Qualifying students receive a $2,5000 housing scholarship for their first year to assist with on-campus room and board, with that support increasing for students who remain on campus through their senior year.

DHS and UAMS Partner for $9.5 Million Mental Health Grant Program

The Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) and UAMS have partnered up with federal and nonprofit organizations to bring $9.5 million worth of mental and behavioral health services to Arkansans. 

• Collaborative care: The grant will fund a collaborative care model, which links patients, primary care providers, behavioral health care managers, and psychiatric consultants via an electronic registry, ensuring comprehensive, streamlined care for those in need. 

• Covering the state: The model will be implemented at 36 clinics and health centers across Arkansas, from FQHCs to UAMS. Additionally, a planning council will be established to make these resources available to other primary clinics throughout the state.

Draft + Table to Open its Doors Later This Month in Former Cregeen's Space

Draft + Table, a new restaurant at the corner of Broadway and Main Streets in North Little Rock, is set to open this month and bring their take on fine dining to Argenta. 

• Design goals: The 3,000 square foot space was taken down to the studs and given a new life by Shine Interior Design Studio. Refinishing the mahogany bar from Dublin was a top priority for retaining a bit of Cregeen's roots. 

• Tastes of America: The menu encompasses the flavours of a melting pot of cultures, with a focus on sandwiches. From classic Italian beef to a fried egg and bologna sandwich, you'll feel like you're touring the country in taste.
