Standard Lithium Expands Lithium Production Plan With Land Acquisition in Lafayette County
Standard Lithium, a Canada-based company backed by Koch Industries, plans to build a $1.3 billion lithium hydroxide production plant in Lafayette County.
Location, location, location: Strategically located near highways and railroads, and a workforce skilled in petrochemical production and processing brines, this facility is positioned to capitalize on the lithium resource necessary for the energy transition.
Economy of scale : With estimated production of 30,000 tons of lithium products per year, this venture plans to sell for at least $30,000 per ton, drastically increasing domestic production from the current 5,000 tons/year.

Special Olympics Arkansas Launches Capital Campaign to Build New Headquarters
Special Olympics Arkansas celebrated the launch of its Launching a Legacy for Inclusion capital campaign in North Little Rock on July 20. The campaign would enable the organization to build a new headquarters with all the bells and whistles on the original lot at 2115 Main St.
Carrying on a mission: The new headquarters would feature a Legacy Wall to recognize donors, spacious offices, and a 3,000-sq. ft. warehouse to store all the necessary equipment for training athletes.
A unified impact: Construction of the headquarters is just one example of a larger effort to revitalize Main Street in North Little Rock, which includes the upcoming fire station.
