Arkansas Virtual Academy, a tuition-free online K-12 public charter school, invested federal COVID relief funds wisely and renovated the former site of a furniture warehouse and showroom to house their new 24,450-square-foot education hub in Little Rock.

  • Academically charged: ARVA provides a tailored and individualized learning journey for students, with over 140 faculty members and an education hub that allows for space for in-person activities, testing, training and additional academic support.

  • Career ready: The hub will also host student sessions focused on career preparation and readiness, so those who graduate from ARVA will enter the world prepared.

ARSO Breaks Ground on New Permanent Home in Little Rock

Arkansas Symphony Orchestra

The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra flew the music notes to Little Rock for a groundbreaking ceremony of its first permanent home in 58 years.

  • A melodic milestone: The 20,000-square-foot, $11.75 million facility, named the Stella Boyle Smith Music Center, is projected to open in September 2024 and will include features for adults and children to participate in music programs.

  • Community oriented: The center will be of key importance to the Little Rock arts scene, allowing space for performance and practice as well as for the orchestra's E. Lee Ronnel Music Academy, which offers education and outreach to the community.
