George's, the Italian restaurant set to open in the Heights on August 19th.

  • New beginnings: The new restaurant is owned by Mary Olive and John Stephens and is built from the cafe Prego site, which closed in 2020.

Arkansas Tax Revenues Up 4.5% As Fiscal Year Begins

July 2023 was a record-breaking month for Arkansas, with total gross revenue reaching $643.3 million, a 4.5% increase over the previous year.

  • Surging sales: Sales and use taxes were up 3.6% while motor vehicle and restaurant sales saw more significant growth at 5.6% and 10.7%, respectively.

  • Making money moves: Fiscal year 2022 ended with a surplus of over a billion dollars, and the trend looks to be continuing into 2023.

Vintage Market Days Coming to AR State Fairgrounds Sept. 15-17

Vintage Market Days

Vintage Market Days is rolling into the Arkansas State Fairgrounds for a three-day shopping event from September 15-17 with the theme "Hello Darling." More than 200 vendors will be selling antiques, clothing, furniture, outdoor decor, and more.

  • Shop smart: Admission is $10 for the weekend or $5 on Sunday only. Pre-purchasing tickets gets you in 30 minutes early on Friday and Saturday.

  • VIP treatment: Kids 12 and under get in free, and the event is offering mailing list sign-up to receive notifications of future events.
